The S8 Fork Milling Head

Highlights

Highlights

The compact size Milling Head Series S8 fork version is designed for machining of small size workpieces.

Because of its space saving dimensions it is well suited for milling tasks in space reduced working environments or for filigree workpieces.

Application areas: 5-axis machining for prototyping and modelling, but also in general tool machining (milling, drilling, grinding etc.)

Patented dynamic direct drives in all axes (CyTec-development)

Highly precise CyTec-axial-/radial bearings

Prepared for different control systems (Siemens, Heidenhain, Fagor, NUM)

Can be equipped with motor spindles with a power range of 10 up to 20 kW

Options:

Slender or compact C-axis, selectable depending on the installation situation

C-axis with absolute angular measuring system

Integrated suction unit

C-Axis & A-Axis

Angular measuring systems

For C-axis positioning a space-saving incremental value measuring system with a very high resolution is used, consisting of a 0,35 mm thin measuring tape ring and an inductively operating scanning head incl. evaluation electronics or as an option an absolute value measuring system with a measuring accuracy of ± 2“.

For A-axis positioning an absolute value measuring system is used whose hollow shaft is connected directly to the centring of the A-axis (swivel housing).
